All three webcasts were offered at no-charge.
Fundamentals of Membrane Bioreactors Part 1: MBR Membrane and Process Fundamentals
March 7, 2012 1:00 - 3:00 pm Eastern
This introductory webcast of the three part series will provide a general overview of the membrane bioreactor process and present membrane and biological process fundamentals. The MBR overview will include a summary of the benefits and limitations of the technology and typical drivers for MBR installation.
Speakers:
- Adrienne Menniti, Ph.D., CH2M HILL
- Sean Scuras, Ph.D., P.E., Tetra Tech
- Michael Schmidt, P.E., Tetra Tech
- Ufuk G. Erdal, Ph.D., CH2M HILL
Topics:
- Membrane Fundamentals
- Process Fundamentals
There will be 2.0 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) offered for this webcast.
Fundamentals of Membrane Bioreactors Part 2: MBR Process Design and Operation
May 16, 2012 1:00 - 3:00 pm Eastern
Building on the fundamentals provided in Part I, the second webcast will present methodology and considerations for completing an MBR process design. All significant components in an MBR flow sheet will be covered including pretreatment, biological treatment, membrane separation, post-treatment and residuals. The translation of the MBR process design into implications for process operation will also be discussed including design and operation for optimizing energy efficiency.
Speakers:
- Jeff Peeters, P.E., MBR Product Manager, GE Water & Process Technologies
- Tony Greiner, P.E., CCM, Senior Associate, Hazen & Sawyer
- Adrienne Menniti, Ph.D., Process Engineer, CH2M HILL (Moderator)
Topics:
- Process Design
- MBR Process Operation
There will be 2.0 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) offered for this webcast.
Fundamentals of Membrane Bioreactors Part 3: Equipment Procurement, Facility Design and Equipment Operation
July 11, 2012 1:00 - 3:00 pm Eastern
Webcast Recording
The final webcast will present considerations for facility design and construction of MBRs including system configuration and layout, equipment and materials. Approaches for equipment procurement for MBR systems will also be presented and the interaction of equipment procurement with overall project design, construction, commissioning and operation will be discussed. Sponsorship for this webcast is provided by JWC Environmental.
