WEF is hosting this webcast to provide more detailed information on the recent EPA and US Army Corps of Engineers joint release of a proposed rule designed to clarify protection under the Clean Water Act for streams and wetlands that form the foundation of the nation's water resources. Determining Clean Water Act protection for streams and wetlands became confusing and complex following Supreme Court decisions in 2001 and 2006. The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Monday, April 21, 2014. The public comment period will be open for 182 days and will close on Monday, October 20, 2014. This webcast will address some questions of specific interest to utilities across the country related to those portions of the rule of potential greater impact to their day to day activities and will attempt to clarify those areas of potential concern.
