The Water Environment Federation Announces its 2013-14 Board of Trustees
Sandra Ralston, an Associate Vice President with ARCADIS assumes WEF leadership during October 8th ceremony

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - The Water Environment Federation (WEF) announces the members of its 2013-2014 Board of Trustees. The members were confirmed by WEF’s House of Delegates during WEFTEC® 2013—WEF’s 86th Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference—earlier this month in Chicago, Ill.

During a ceremony on Tuesday, October 8, the WEF “gavel of leadership” was passed from President Cordell Samuels (Pickering, Ontario, Canada) to incoming President Sandra Ralston, an Associate Vice President with ARCADIS in Charleston, S.C. During her term, President Ralston will continue to help fulfill WEF’s three critical objectives—to drive innovation in water, enrich the expertise of water professionals, and raise public awareness of the value of water—in part by calling on WEF members to be unified in purpose.

“[Working toward these objectives] will not be the work of just board members,” said Ralston during her October 8 acceptance speech. “We can only be successful if WEF members work on these objectives in pursuit of our common mission.”

In addition to President Ralston, the 2013-2014 Board of Trustees includes: Immediate Past President Samuels, President-Elect Ed McCormick (Oakland, Calif.), Vice-President Paul Bowen (Atlanta, Ga.), Treasurer Rick Warner (Reno, Nev.), and Secretary and Interim Executive Director Eileen O’Neill (Alexandria, Va.). Trustees Charles Bott (Hampton Roads, Va.), Fran Burlingham (Walnut Creek, Calif.), Ralph Exton (Trevose, Pa.), Jenny Hartfelder (Denver, Colo.), Tom Kunetz (Chicago, Ill.), Garry Macdonald (Auckland, New Zealand), George Martin (Greenwood, S.C.), and Erin Mosley (Boston, Mass.).

WEFTEC is recognized as the world’s largest annual water quality event and provides the latest technologies and services for water environment preservation, restoration, and sustainability. WEFTEC 2013 was held at McCormick Place from October 5-9, 2013.
