 Title: Manager, Advertising
Company: Water Environment Federation
Job Location: Alexandria, Va. 


Summary:  Establishes processes and procedures related to advertising and manages advertising production and sales.  Controls advertising functions for WEFTEC (annual conference and exposition); establishes billing, collection and credit procedures for advertising.  Responsibilities include:  

  • Manages production of advertisements in print and electronic media.  Collaborates with Creative Services to determine the layout of the print magazine WE&T, and WEFTEC related publications. Manages electronic advertising, lead generation program, banner ads, updates advertising pages on website and responsible for advertising marketing materials. Provides support to ad sales team. 
  • Establishes and administers financial procedures for advertising and collaborates with Financial Management on invoicing and billing.   Enters all advertising orders, process invoices, prepares billing and prepares commission payments.
  • Recommends advertising procedures and collaborates with Director on changes.


Prefer a bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Advertising or a related area and 3+ years project management experience in a marketing or advertising environment. Need Experience with digital ad copy production on MAC and PC platforms, strong customer service skills, and excellent communication skills.  Must be able to effectively meet deadlines.

Title: Coordinator – Member Associations Services

Description:   Water Environment Federation is seeking a detail oriented individual with excellent communication and administrative skills to provide project and administrative support for the Association Management department, member associations (MA), and House of Delegates.  Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinates WEF participation in MA Annual Conferences to include preparation for WEF representative communication and distribution of MA meeting packets.
  • Creates and maintains communication materials/tools, and knowledge resources related to MA programs.
  • Updates MA/HOD areas of websites.
  • Maintains MA/HOD database records.
  • Coordinates/manages delivery of WEF materials to MA Annual Conferences and HOD events.

Title: Exhibition Operations Assistant

Description: The Water Environment Federation is seeking a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and administrative skills to support conference exhibition activities. This position provides a variety of customer service, administrative and project support to include:
  • Processing exhibitor invoices and payments
  • Preparing exhibitor lists for print and electronic media
  • Maintaining exhibitor database, paper and electronic files
  • Maintaining database records/updates for exhibitions area and overseeing report development
  • Assisting with development of exhibitor service manual
  • Maintaining/updating Web-page content

We are seeking candidates with one to two years of conference or exhibition administrative experience or other high-level administrative experience. Candidates must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, databases and e-mail, and also possess excellent organizational, problem-solving, verbal/written communication, telephone, grammar, spelling, proofreading, and editing skills. Ability to travel and work at conference site— including weekend work/travel — and to handle multiple conflicting tasks/deadlines is a must.
