New opportunities are available to help support anaerobic digester projects at water resource recovery facilities. Beyond traditional State Revolving Fund sources, recent stimulus funds, incentive programs, and regulatory changes are reshaping the revenue digesters can produce. In some cases, changes to the Renewable Fuel Standard are expected that will shift the economics of building or upgrading digesters. In other cases, tax incentives may require third-party participation to leverage tax benefits.
