Integrated planning (IP) was established in 2012 by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and adopted in the Clean Water Act (CWA) in 2019. Eleven years later, only five percent of municipal permit holders are taking advantage of the benefits that IP provides, including affordable capital improvement plans, effective project sequencing, and the benefits of adaptive watershed management. This webinar aims to highlight why IP is a preferred path for municipal wastewater and stormwater utilities and reinforce that its benefits go well beyond the original driver of sewer overflow planning. Moreover, this webinar looks to share how to prioritize and implement IP and how municipal permit holders can move past the fear of implementing this approach to address future challenges.
