This webcast will discuss the use of traditional (mechanistic, first principles) process modelling and data-driven techniques to analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize wastewater treatment operations.  Digital water experts will introduce the concepts behind using models to understand dynamic activated sludge systems and illustrate how data-driven and machine learning techniques can be incorporated into Digital Twin systems to enhance and supplement traditional mechanistic modelling techniques. Attendees can expect to learn about the strengths and challenges of the two different approaches, how they can work together, and issues to considering when selecting the best technologies for the task at hand.
