Many utilities often deal with the impacts of ineffective change management associated with the implementation of organization-wide initiatives. Although they set about to create new cultures and to find better ways to deliver superior service to their customers, the outcomes that they were anticipating were not as easily achieved as first thought, and sometimes did not come to fruition at all. In order to better accomplish their desired goals, these utilities have worked to break down organizational silos and foster a culture that their workforces can embrace through the implementation of effective organizational change management approaches.
This presentation will discuss various approaches for organizational change management and its positive effect on utility staff. Three different utility organizations will discuss the change management approaches they have employed to drive the organizational readiness and change required for successful initiative implementation. They will discuss potential pitfalls to avoid and benefits to obtain, through each of their individual experiences.
