ALEXANDRIA, Va. — John Wiley and Sons Inc. and the Water Environment Federation (WEF) are pleased to announce that WEF has selected Wiley as its publishing partner for Water Environment Research (WER). The journal will transition to the Wiley Online Library platform beginning with the January 2019 issue.

WER is the journal of choice for academics and water quality professionals worldwide since 1928. It is a monthly online journal with a worldwide readership that includes fundamental and applied research in all scientific and technical areas related to water quality. As an official WEF publication, the journal also provides an annual Literature Review on water quality topics from the previous year.

"For 90 years, WER has been a trusted vehicle for the dissemination of scholarly water research," said Eileen O'Neill, WEF Executive Director. "It's exciting to take this new step that we believe will lead to even greater impact and awareness of the information published in this flagship journal."

"I am very excited for this new partnership with Wiley and what it means for WER," said Tim Ellis, WER Editor-in-Chief. "As we celebrate our 90th year of publication, we are reminded of the historical significance of WER and of all the influential researchers and practitioners who have published here. Joining forces with Wiley enables us to continue a tradition of excellence and increase the reach of the journal to new and emerging markets. With this change, we will be included in the Wiley Online Library, which will increase WER’s discoverability, readership, and international impact.”

“We are delighted to begin a partnership with the Water Environment Federation to publish WER,” said Swapna Padhye, Editorial Director, Society Services at Wiley. “Given that water is the most important resource in the world, the work that the Federation and its community of scientists does is integral to the survival of our planet. We are honored to partner with them in support of their goal to improve water quality around the world by facilitating the dissemination of this important scholarly work.”
